Good Design Just Feels Right.
A Personalised Approach To Design
My design philosophy focuses on producing individual designs catered specifically to my clients in Brisbane and South East QLD. I undertake projects with a dedication that reflects my committed work ethic, attention to detail, and extensive experience to lend improved value and aesthetic appeal to your home and lifestyle.
Looking at the property as a whole unit, I design with the building rather than treating it as a separate identity. This approach is aimed at increasing the living space and extending the home into the external realm. We live in a warm climate with an alfresco lifestyle, so it makes sense to take full advantage of this for our families.
I have a ‘start to completion’ outlook with my designs. Once the design phase has been completed, I am able to maintain an unbiased direction for the construction to gain the best outcome for you. Then, who better to maintain the continually changing aspect of the landscape than the designer? As the vegetation grows, I can help manipulate the form to keep the garden looking its best for many years to come.
The cost of a design is greatly determined by the size of the landscape, the uses intended for it and the preferred elements within the spaces. That is why it is vital to review the site with you and discuss the overall desired outcome.
Design Brief, Requirements and Budget
A preliminary on-site meeting with you is held to discuss design brief, requirements and budget.
While on site, we analyse the existing site including vegetation evaluation, aspect and vistas, existing buildings and structure's layout, levels and slopes, microclimate issues, etc. Digital photos are taken of the site for closer analysis at a later stage.
A fee proposal is provided to you, outlining the scope of works and design services. .
A concept montage is presented to show the proposed personality of the garden including major design elements, planting themes and material selection.
Concept drawings are presente, showing the basic design structure of the landscape. This may also include sections and elevations, 3D model of proposed site and coloured plan.
A master plan is drafted from which a landscape contractor or client can build the design.
The drawings may comprise of a full planting plan, set out plan, material finishes, irrigation specifications, essential sections and elevations, grading plan or necessary spot levels, indicative drainage, indicative lighting, construction details and specifications.
If required we also arrange Engineer’s Certification.
Quality control may encompass obtaining quotes from licensed contractors, revision of quotes and recommendation of which contractors to progress with.
We also provide construction assistance such as periodic site visits during construction including review of construction set-out, evaluation of plant layout, any redesigning due to changed site conditions or design modification, and inspection of plant and material quality.
Having spent so much on your garden, proper care to encourage productive growth for years to come is desirable.
