SAVE YOUR GARDEN!

At the risk of pointing out the obvious, it is very hot outside. With no immediate relief on the horizon the landscapes and gardens are suffering. Your garden needs your help until the dry spell breaks.

As an emergency stopgap I strongly recommend picking up a soaker hose from Bunnings as soon as you can. Soak your garden for 1 - 2 hours, allowing the mist to soak through the mulch and enabling some deep watering. Try to do this watering at dusk to prevent evaporation and sunburn to the plants.

Even if there is a mild hint that rain is on the way you will not be wasting time or water by giving your garden a good drink asap, rather, you’ll actually be giving the ground a ‘pre-soak’ to enable it to really take advantage of any rain that may suddenly appear.

Happy watering!
